As we commented on <\/a>last January, on the verge of commercializing all-electric vehicles to compete against\u00a0Nissan\u2019s Leaf<\/a> and \u00a0Chevrolet\u2019s Volt<\/a>, Renault revealed\u00a0after a five-month internal investigation\u00a0it had suspended three senior executives, with a decision on permanent sanctions to follow. \u00a0As it was to be expected, there were no direct official statements from the companies and executives involved…until now.<\/p>\n

Nonexistent Accounts<\/h3>\n

One of the key “smoking guns” alleged in the original investigation, bank accounts alleged to have be\u00a0controlled\u00a0by the fired\u00a0executives, did not exist as alleged in secrecy heavens Switzerland and Liechtenstein. \u00a0Renault’s CEO and COO have apologized to the executives and, according to some reports<\/a>, pledged to repair the injustice. \u00a0The executives, on the other hand, have taken legal steps<\/a> against their accusers.<\/p>\n
